About Glenda Poletti:

Glenda’s work recognizes there are no lines between body, mind and spirit, bringing a whole-person approach to healing.  As a Nationally Certified Bodywork Therapist and Advanced Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, she has helped hundreds of clients in her private practice find balance, ease, and release from physical and emotional pain.  Glenda notes: “I work ‘with’ rather than ‘on’ my clients.  We identify restrictions in the body, make the connection with mental and emotional blocks, and work to open, release, and reframe them.  Posture and mobility improve, pain decreases, and clients experience more energy, finding they are able to move through blocks they have been bumping up against, often for years.”

Glenda has been in private practice in Issaquah and Seattle since 1999.  She was a faculty member at The BodyMind Academy in Bellevue for five years.  Courses taught include “Anatomy, Kinesiology and Physiology”, “Shiastu” ,  “Business Practices” and “Insurance Billing.”

She specializes in Myofascial Release, having learned from and worked with the foremost expert in this field, John F. Barnes, PT.  At “Therapy on the Rocks” in Sedona, AZ she worked directly with John Barnes and his staff, treating people with complex and chronic pain syndromes.

Glenda came to the healing arts through her own experience of injuries and surgeries, noticing that each event seemed to compound the previous ones.  Healing became more and more elusive.  A severe neck injury in 1989 left her in significant pain for more than five years, leading her to expand her healing journey into alternative medicine, bodywork, and the realms of the spiritual.

Glenda is licensed in Washington State as a massage practitioner and registered counselor.

Glenda’s Purpose of Practice Statement:

“I created my practice with intention to provide a safe, accessible place.  I provide caring, sensitive, knowledgeable and informed bodywork for the treatment of conditions that are in some way limiting quality of life for my patients.  I accept insurance because I feel it makes bodywork accessible to a greater number of people, and introduces them to work they might not otherwise have the opportunity to experience and benefit from.  I maintain privacy and confidentiality for my patients.  I work with the referring physicians by providing progress reports.

“I use both therapeutic massage and Myofascial Release, which is an excellent approach for many chronic pain conditions.  By working with both muscle tissue via massage, and connective tissue via Myofascial Release, I believe I provide a complete and long-lasting solution for my patients”.
