WHAT TO EXPECT

Your treatment plan
Together, we’ll develop a treatment plan that is specifically for you.  There are no recipes, no preset series of sessions.  It took your body your entire lifetime to become the way it is today.  It may take a good deal of treatment to get back to optimal function and freedom, or you may find tremendous relief with just a few sessions.  You will know after just one session if MFR feels right to you, and can make decisions about future sessions at that time.

I recommend you schedule as many sessions as close together as your schedule and financial situation will allow.  You will make more progress with the same number of sessions spaced closer together than if you spread them out.  This is because your remaining fascial restrictions will pull your body back into its old patterns if given the chance.  More intensive programs have a more profound, long-lasting effect.

Length of sessions
I recommend sessions at least 75 minutes long to allow for checking in, postural and range of motion testing, treatment, and instruction and feedback about homework, including stretching and exercises.  You may also book 90 minutes, or two consecutive 75-minute sessions.  See
Treatment Intensives for information on comprehensive programs.

What to Bring
Please print and complete the following forms and bring them with you to your first session:

What to Wear
Every possible accommodation will be made to ensure your comfort and safety.  Some myofascial release techniques are done in a seated or standing position, where it is not possible to keep you completely covered by a sheet/blanket.  At a minimum, you will keep your underwear on during the session.  Please bring baggy shorts and (women) a tank top or sports bra if that would increase your comfort.

Please also review the articles available at http://www.myofascialrelease.com, to learn more about this dynamic work.  I look forward to collaborating with you toward your health and physical freedom.
